Abstract (translation)
The homogeneity of climatic conditions affecting the regime and distribution of glaciers in Kamchatka is examined. These are two main properties on which the character of glaciation depends: a) the total precipitation during a hydrologifal year and b) the mean summer air tem-petature, and they were considered in space and time aspects.
The constructed space correlation functions have shown that their variations are highly coherent from year to year in the coastal regions but become weaker landwards. Due to the mountain ridge the climate of the Kamchatka river valley is more stable than in other parts. The snow cover distribution is affected not onlу by the total wetting of territory but by the annual range of precipi-tations the maximum of which shifts from August to November in the direction of NE to SW.
Long-term observation data indicates a decrease of mean summer temperature and an increase of annual precipi-tation during the last 30-40 years. Our data make it possible? to examine the representativity of meteo-stations, the direction of atmospheric moisture tracks and the time variations of glacial mass balance components.
